Before the Israelites were dispersed to inherent their share in the Promised Land, Joshua assembled them at Shechem to tell them what God of Israel commanded him.
Joshua challenges them to fear and serve the Lord God faithfully.
God commanded them to throw away all other gods in their possession.

Today, many of us who claim to be Christians have many gods of our own making.
These gods are not literally idols but stumbling blocks in a Christian’s life.
These gods are different from person to person and known by many names.
They rob us the joy of our salvation, our intimacy with the Lord Jesus Christ, and restrict our ability to mature in His Word and
knowledge.
God says, we need to identify those gods in our life and throw them away for life of a fruit bearing Christian for the glory of God.
