The First Advent Sunday speaks of Prophecies in the Old Testament.
The Prophets foretold the coming of the Messaiah 700 years before the Lord Jesus Christ's birth In Bethlehem.
The Prophets, Micah, Isaiah, and Jeremiah spoke about HIS birth in Bethelem, His mission, His death, and His resurrection.
These prophecies are called Messianic prophecies.
Prophecies are not predicitions about the future but the promises of God.
Predicitions can be a mere human guess work whereas Prophecy is a direct revelation from God through HIS prophets.
First Advent Sunday heralds the season of Christmas that fills the heart of people with joy, peace, and hope.
The reason for this season is to revisit the birth of our Lord Jesus who came to save the people from their sin.
He was born to die for human sin and to give hope of heaven for those who believe in HIM.
Let us celebrate this season with joy in our hearts and to become the channels of God's blessings around us.

Why would anyone choose to lose their soul?
What is losing one’s soul?
According the Bible, soul lives eternally as there is no death for the soul.
Initially the soul lives in and with the human body.
In death, the body perishes and the soul is released for its eternal abode.
Bible says that there two places where the soul will ultimately reach its final destination.
One is heaven and the other is hell.
Both are real no matter what anybody thinks or discount them as myths
Those who are forgiven and saved by Lord Jesus Christ will go to heaven and all others who reject that message will go to hell.
Many discount this Gospel message because it is too narrow and exclusive.
Many others think it is foolishness to believe in God when man can accomplish such great things in life without God.
Recently Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple passed away as a ZEN-Buddhist.
He could achieve everything a person can aspire to become in this world.
He had unlimited wealth, recognition, intelligence, honor and glory that a person can dream of.
Lord Jesus in His own words said like this in Matthew 16-26
“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” (NIV)
I do not know whether Steve Job accepted the Lord Jesus as His personal Savior and received forgives for his sins.
But the Scripture clearly points to the fact that one can achieve everything in this world still lose one’s soul.
My friend, the important question in your life is this.
Where am I going to spend the eternity?
One can achieve everything in the world still end up in hell because they rejected Lord Jesus Christ.
Think about it and seek the Lord Jesus when the time is still in your hand.
